Many pyrographers like
the solid copper tips that are used in the soldering iron type of
burning pen. They say the copper tip retains and spreads heat better
than traditional wire pen tips. We cannot confirm or deny this,
but we're giving our users the best of both worlds. Using a copper
tip on the end of a wire tip allows us to make shapes, such as circles,
that cannot be made using traditional wire tips.
We have
three standard size circle pens, but other sizes can be special-ordered.
We can make sizes up to 1/4" and down to 1/16" diameter.
These special pens are all hand made and silver brazed. We recommend
that you purchase either the standard or vented pen; however, we
can make these tips for replaceable-tip handpieces as well.
Copper tip
shade pens do hold their heat longer than wire shade pens. We have
a teardrop shaped pen with a point. Pyrographers can shade out corners
more easily with this pen. There is also a shade pen with a square
end for shading away from lines. The wedge-shaped pen has a blade
on a 45 degree angle. This pen can also be used for light soldering
(We soldered a complete circuit board with this pen, and it was
fast and the heat was immediate). it can also be used as a hot knife.
Again, while
we can make these tips for your replaceable-tip handpiece, we recommend
that you purchase either a standard or vented fixed-tip pen with
these tips.
